The TEAM

+ ANN LUPO (WRITER, DIRECTOR, PRODUCER, ACTOR, EDITOR)

Ann is a Brooklyn-based filmmaker, producer, and actor. After graduating from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts she began her career traveling the country with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jose Antonio Vargas filming DOCUMENTED, a feature length documentary she co-directed and co-produced that tells the story of Vargas’ life growing up as an undocumented immigrant in America. The film premiered at AFI DOCS in 2013, was distributed by CNN Films, and is now available on Netflix and iTunes. In 2014 she began working with director Mac Premo who trained her to be the fiercest editor on the planet. Their notable collaborations include the Vimeo STAFF PICKED “Bucket Board” video (220K views), eight national Ford F150 commercials and two U2 music videos (45m views). Since then she has collaborated with YouTube maverick Casey Neistat on several short films and appeared in a Samsung commercial that aired at the 2018 Academy Awards. In 2015 she started production on a film of her own exploring love and heartbreak. Over the next three years, it would become IN REALITY, her first feature film.

+ HOLLY MEEHL (PRODUCER)

Holly began her film career in publicity at Sony Pictures Classics in 2011 and then transitioned to film development to work for feature director Tanya Wexler (HYSTERIA). In 2014, Holly began working at Salty Features under director/producer Yael Melamede and is a Co-Producer on Melamede's documentary feature (DIS)HONESTY: THE TRUTH ABOUT LIES. Holly ran a successful $137,000.00 Kickstarter campaign for the film, which then premiered at the Hot Docs and Full Frame Film Festivals in 2015. Holly recently launched her own production company, Lunamax Films, and is a producer on the documentary feature, FOR THE BIRDS, which was selected for the IFP Documentary Lab in 2016 and premiered at the Sheffield Doc Fest and AFI Doc Fest in 2018. She is also currently producing the feature documentary, JACINTA, which participated in the Hot Docs Forum, Points North Forum, and TFI/A&E IndieFilms Story Labs in 2017. Lunamaxfilms.com

+ ESTEBAN PEDRAZA (CO-WRITER, CO-DIRECTOR, PRODUCER)

Esteban is an American filmmaker of Colombian descent originally from Nashville, TN. While studying film and at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts he won a short film competition held by the Tony Blair Faith Foundation for his short ‘People I Know.’ After graduation he formed a partnership with fellow NYU classmate Aaron Pryka which produced a intimate short called “DeafBlind Couple.” The film went on to play at festivals around the U.S., and won the Audience Award at the 2017 Ann Arbor Film Festival. Esteban shares a co-writer and co-director credit on a feature film by Ann Lupo titled, “In Reality.” What started as a romantic comedy web series became a feature film produced by Super Deluxe. Esteban has also worked as an assistant and lead editor on several commercial campaigns for brands such as Ford, HP, Samsung, Penske, American Express, and more. He now splits his time between New York and Nashville and is currently developing his first feature film.

+ AARON PRYKA (CO-WRITER, CO-DIRECTOR, PRODUCER)

Aaron was born in Michigan, and grew up watching way too many movies in his parent’s basement. He attended Film School at New York University, specializing in screenwriting, but later dropping out because let’s face it, he was just too cool for school. He has written and produced several short films and web pieces, the latest of which, Deafblind Couple screened at several festivals and took home the audience award at The 2017 Ann Arbor Film Festival. He currently resides in New York City and is writing his first pilot. He enjoys reading, doughnuts with sprinkles, and things that are funny. He thinks you’re really going to enjoy In Reality.

+ NADINE MARTINEZ (DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY, PRODUCER)

Nadine was raised by her television and fed a steady diet of movies, cartoons and commercials. Unable to satiate her appetite for visual storytelling and stimulation, she decided early on that making the programs she watched was the best way to keep life in front of and away from her television as interesting as possible. She climbed the ranks as a camera assistant working on TV shows and movies like The Black List, Boardwalk Empire, The Skeleton Twins and Louie, and she now works full time as a Camera Operator and Director of Photography. You can see some of her most recent work as a director of photography on the feature film In Reality, on BET's TV show The Rundown, or on TBS's Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. When she's not working on set, you can find her at home in Brooklyn, NY cuddling her three geriatric chihuahuas, online window shopping for impractical shoes, or eating a bag of potato chips.

+ FREIDA ORANGE (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER)

With years of publicity & production experience, Freida joined Rubenstein in 2013. Her recent and current clients include ACLU, REFINERY29, AMAZON’S BOSCH, STX FILMS ADRIFT, THE AMERICAN MEME and upcoming HBO DOCUMENTARIES SAY HER NAME: THE LIFE AND DEATH OF SANDRA BLAND. At PMKBNC she ran PR campaigns for films including BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD & CASTING BY; at Sikelia, she was executive assistant to Scorsese on THE DEPARTED, ROLLING STONES SHINE A LIGHT and SHUTTER ISLAND; and at Miramax/Dimension she handled publicity for award-winning narratives and docs including KILL BILL VOL.II, COLD MOUNTAIN, THE AVIATOR & FAHRENHEIT 911. Freida is a founding member of The Innocence Project’s Young Professionals Committee. She graduated from the Grady School of Journalism at The University of Georgia.

+ WINNIE KEMP (EXECUTIVE PRODUCER)

Winnie Kemp serves as SVP of television development at Super Deluxe, a disruptive entertainment company dedicated to cultivating diverse auteurs and amplifying unconventional creative voices. The company, which is a division of Turner and operates independently in Downtown Los Angeles, has been described by The Los Angeles Times as shaping the future of television and Fast Company has named it one of Hollywood’s 10 Most Innovative Companies.
Winnie is a champion of unexpected stories that have emotional resonance. You can see her touch in such projects as This Close, a groundbreaking dramedy series written by and starring deaf creators, which has been described by The New York Times as “funny and poignant in ways we haven’t seen before” and has a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. In 2019, her supernatural drama series Chambers will debut on Netflix starring Uma Thurman and Tony Goldwyn and look at the haves and have-nots in America through the lens of a young heart attack survivor.
Selected by Adweek as a female disrupter in media to watch, Winnie is dedicated to closing the gender gap in Hollywood and recently participated in the inaugural "50 Women Can Change the World in Media & Entertainment Cohort" alongside leaders at Netflix, Disney, Amazon, NBC, and more.
